did you have a good christmas? we sure did! william got to dress up a number of times (that number being 3, two of which were santa outfits, the third being a respectable holiday number from his grandma).

shoes

has anyone seen this video? an iraqi journalist threw both of his shoes at president bush during a press conference with iraq's prime minister. did anyone else think that it took secret service a really long time to get moving? i mean the guy threw both of his shoes! he had to bend down to get the second one after he threw the first! a fellow journalist got up to stop him, pen and paper in hand, before any secret service members jumped in and did anything-- they were probably eating sandwiches in the adjoining room... you see how they all came hopping out of there. also, did you notice what cat-like reflexes bush has! i would've put my hands out to block them or more likely, gotten a boot to the face, but bush ducked like a pitcher on the mound. maybe he practices for such events. in any case, i'm impressed, and he must have felt kinda proud watching the replay.

sweeping saturday

like most weekends, we have a goal to clean this place up over the next two days. it is an ongoing battle against a little tornado that constantly flies through here stirring things up. wish us luck.

leaps, bounds

yes it makes sense, he's growing every second, but i swear, he's just looking and acting so much older these days. except that he still hasn't the desire or the ability to get all of his food into his mouth.

william's (and consequently oliver's) favorite food: brussels sprouts. that, along with broccoli. he had 4 brussels last night and 8 tonight.

at this exponential rate we're looking at 64 by this friday.

the warm weather does a baby good

sheesh, we're in the arizona desert for one week and suddenly william is doing things like a professional baby-- crawling (though this, still like a novice), pulling himself up, sitting himself down, and even eating real meals. apparently we need a vacation more often.

he also posed for his first professional photos. though i wonder if he's been doing some modeling on the sly because the second he got in front of the camera he started holding poses, tilting his head just so, and generally playing it up for the camera:
