i'm so behind in my postings! it's as if a week of my life is hanging in limbo just waiting to be uploaded into cyberspace.
okay, it's not that dire. but so as to not get even more behind, i'm going to first update you on the present and go back in a bit when i have more time to show you what the past was like.
so, can you guess where we are from this picture?
no, not louisiana, despite the new orleans pizza and submarines in the background.
not wisconsin despite the fact that we live there.
not ohio despite... the mini vans parked at the burger king?
does this help?
we're in ontario! (not quebec). actually, we were in ontario.
yesterday, we were in toronto, ontario for a very long time.
did you know there were traffic jams in canada?
well, there are.
this picture in no way does justice to the traffic that was the majority of our afternoon, but it shows what little we saw of toronto.
did you know that canadians were just as, if not more, impatient in their cars as people from the united states? well they are. not that we got a bad impression of canada. today, we decided canada was so nice that we chose not to leave, even though we had initially planned to.
but then we did leave. we're actually in a motel 8 in malone, new york. i know... very classy...
since it rained for most of the day we decided to spare ourselves a wet tent.
however, we did camp yesterday at a cool place east of toronto called murphy's point.
guess what i found in the tent...
i thought it was a button at first, until i got it really close to my face only to discover that it was no button.
it was this!
aye! i like bugs and all... but i just don't know about a millipede the size of the nail that brought down our tire last week that can curl up to such an inocuous looking coil that i think it's a button, only to discover in the dim light of the tent, once i've got it in my hands and examining it so close to my face that, were it just a little faster could have uncoiled and attached onto my head with it's little feet, that it's not a button at all!
on a friendlier, or, less misunderstood bug note:
canadian ants! or... u.s. ants that have infiltrated a wall on the canadian side of the st. lawrence river....
