to all of the dads, including my own...i drew you a tie.
appropriately enough, as i'm writing this post, i'm listening to 'the shadow' on the radio, which is what my dad used to listen to on the radio when he was a kid. not that i'm a kid anymore, which brings me to my next point:
a couple of people asked if there would be a birthday post. another person said that from this blog they have learned that i am obsessed with food. what do these comments have to do with each other? well, i just can't bring myself to do an official birthday post, and the reason i feel that way is because i failed to photograph both the delicious breakfast and delicious dinner greg made for the occasion.
i even failed to photograph the free brownie i ate at the grocery store bakery. and all of these missed opportunities were great disappointments!
the photo-less brownie and dinner were the result of a dead camera battery. the breakfast was just plain groggy forgetfulness. so... i think a certain aunt might be correct...
a posting just doesn't feel complete without a picture of food!
so, here is my unofficial birthday post, appended to the official father's day post. my birthday advice: enjoy your birthday! since we get older each and every day, you might as well take some pleasure in the one day of the year that is specifically designated for you (unless of course your birthday falls on a nationally recognized holiday...dad). but even if it does, there's no sense in dreading this day. dread the day before, sure, or the day after, but enjoy your birthday!
and don't worry dad, i'm happy to share my day with you.... this year. ;-)
