video game heroes, setting the parent record, festivals, desserts

just a couple of pictures from this past week...

greg's friend Mario...
he's a well-respected plumber in madison.

teenagers...

this weekend... parent set 3 of 3...

quite impressive to get all three sets here, and by the middle of june no less! thanks to all of the parent sets that helped us make our summertime goal!

out to dinner...

a view from dinner..

this is a view of madison at night...
i don't care what anyone says... i've decided that i like the cows! are you here to stay cows?

maneuvering the parking garage...

we made it...

the top of the car is gone...

greg, trying to say 'rubber buggy bumper' three times fast...

ruh...

b...

wuh....guh...bug...

this deer was in the parking lot of the office building near our place. the picture is no good but i think it's at least clear that it's a deer...

saturday morning: garage sales. the neighborhood nearby was having a neighborhood-wide garage sale, but all i got was this free shovel...
and the little camping chair! and just kidding about the shovel. i think it's really cool! and it really was free! the chair still had the tag on it, but i got it for two dollars. now, there were a couple of sales where people clearly overpriced their items. for example, $9 for a cookbook. i'm pretty sure that the point of a garage sale is to get rid of stuff you no longer want... otherwise... you wouldn't or shouldn't be selling it. so why ask $9 for a cookbook? no one's going to buy it. you're going to be putting it back in that box it's been sitting in for 10 years at the end of the day... so why did you put it out there in the first place??? also, this is a fancy schmancy neighborhood... why not just ask for $.50 like the rest of your neighbors?

okay, just wanted to mention that.
next, a visit to the garden (no pictures today) and to our new house. well, not ours, our future neighbor's. it was great fun walking through the floorplan i've been looking at for so long. perhaps i will take pictures tomorrow if we go back.

next: lunch...

and...

food...

later... volunteering at another neighborhood festival...

our table. not too popular.

a kid's choir...

lastly...
dinner...

at 'harvest'

dessert... #1

dessert... #2

dessert... #3

i can explain!

we ordered two of dessert #2. they accidentally brought out two of dessert #1. we kept #1... they brought out #2. and then dessert #3 was mandatory. everyone gets dessert #3. so, we had to eat 3 desserts.
